Awel y Môr, as an RWE-led project, has two routes for engaging with suppliers.
For established companies looking to work directly with RWE, we have a procurement portal. This puts your business’s capabilities in front of our procurement team, and can lead to work on operational and development sites across our portfolio.

STEP Programme
For companies wishing to find a place in the supply chain for RWE’s offshore wind portfolio which includes those outside the first tier, we have the Supplier Transparency Engagement Platform (STEP).
This is an innovative approach to supplier engagement, as we look to expand investment opportunities in renewable energy to a wider pool of UK businesses.
Over time, RWE’s approach to communication with potential suppliers has become more holistic as we strive to maximise opportunities from our projects progressing through development.
To that end, STEP has been created as a more proactive approach to beginning and sustaining an ongoing dialogue with suppliers.
STEP is also our commitment to continuously improve how we connect with businesses looking to form part of the supply chain for offshore wind.
Part of this will be enabling a greater understanding of capabilities, while also equipping businesses to work co-operatively with each other to help solve key industry and supply chain challenges.
In addition, we have implemented new practices such as new project-specific pages that aim to increase transparency and awareness of project milestones and requirements.
There is also a suite of supplier engagement days, an easy-to-use engagement platform with open search functionality and proactive project updates, plus the opportunity to keep in touch with project team members with calls on a quarterly basis.
